Brain Quest Blast Off: Grade 3 has been the most engaging app. The students used this app when they were finished doing their book reports on the ipad. The Mini Book Report app was not what I expected. The students were very limited in the amount of writing that they were able to do for each story element. We printed off their final product and they were not very fancy or nice looking (very basic). I think this is a great app for LAC at the grade 2 level when the students are just being introduced to story elements and writing complete sentences.
We have used the ipads for World Math Day, which was a fun activity for the students. For this type of activity it was important that every student have their own ipad.
The students love having the ipads in the classroom. At times I find they get bored with the apps because they want to play (especially with the talking apps) instead of doing educational game apps.
