Students practice the times tables with Multiplication Simplified app.

After reading a chapter book, the grade 3s identified the main characters, setting, and sequence of events, and added their personal view of the story. They summarized their information and completed a book report, using an iPad app called Mini Book Report.  They were so excited to complete this and see the finished product!

Due to the small number of iPads available to us, the students had to share them.  Therefore, the activity took double the amount of time.  As well, I needed to have an alternate activity for the rest of the students.

Ms. Chatz also showed us an app called Multiplication Simplified, which we used to drill the multiplication tables.  Having their own iPad would have allowed each child to move along at their own pace.  Of course, the students enjoy working together, especially if challenged with games.
